Join Us for the Annual Member Meeting!

Are you a LARSO member? Whether you visit us every day or once a year, come to the Annual Member Meeting!

The Annual Member Meeting is an opportunity to hear important updates from LARSO Board Members. The meeting will take place on Thursday, May 15 during lunch at both Senior Activity Centers. You will have an opportunity to vote for the incoming Board of Directors candidates, and fill out a survey to share your experiences at the Senior Activity Centers. Plus, there will be a prize drawing!

The chefs have planned a yummy menu of Green Chile Cheeseburgers, California blend vegetables, Sun Chips, and tropical fruit salad. Be sure to call the Center where you would like to dine to sign up for lunch.

2025 Board of Directors Candidate Bios

Don Dudziak

Don Dudziak has been a dedicated member of the LARSO Board for the past three years and is eager to continue his contribution for another three years. When reflecting on his enthusiasm for our organization, Don shared, “As I aged, I discovered the Senior Center and its diverse programs tailored for retirees. I felt compelled to help maintain and enhance these offerings, ensuring we secure the necessary resources for their continued success.”

Don's passion for community service began in his early adulthood during the civil rights movement in Pittsburgh. Today, he remains actively engaged with local non-profits, including the Kiwanis and the Sportsman’s Club, while mentoring graduate students at LANL, among other initiatives.

Jan Nye

Jan Dye stepped up to fill a vacant seat on the LARSO Board when the opportunity arose. Her journey with the Senior Activity Centers began when a friend invited her to lunch at the White Rock Center. Initially hesitant, believing she wasn’t “old enough” to participate, Jan says, “I begrudgingly went to lunch and discovered the incredible Senior Activity Centers we have in Los Alamos County. That day, I knew I wanted to become a part of this organization.”

With extensive fundraising experience, Jan currently serves on the board's Donor Committee. A true people person, she thrives on volunteering and is excited about the prospect of continuing her service as a member of the Board of Directors.

Diane Hammon

Diane is excited to announce her candidacy for the LARSO Board of Directors position. With nine years of experience on the Board for the Los Alamos Council on Cancer and a history of involvement in our community, serving on the PTO and as a Girl Scout leader, Diane is committed to making a positive impact. Since 2019, Diane has been a tax preparer with the AARP Tax-Aide Foundation, which has deepened her understanding of the needs of older adults.

Diane is genuinely inspired by the changes at the center, which make it more inviting and active for our community's seniors. However, she also recognizes the challenges ahead, including funding and space limitations. She is eager to work on strategies to increase membership and donations, ensuring our organization thrives and supports our older adults. Diane would be honored to have your support in this endeavor. Thank you!
