Closures and Changes

Snow Policy

The Senior Activity Centers typically follow the Los Alamos Public School Snow Schedule.

If we are DELAYED 2 hours (open at 10:30 am):

  • All activities scheduled before 10:30 am will be canceled.

  • We do not deliver meals - HDM should use emergency meals.

  • We will serve lunch from 12-1; it may or may not be what is on the menu.

  • Day out will be picked up at 11 am.

If we are CLOSED:

  • HDM should use emergency meals.

  • We will not serve lunch.

  • All activities are canceled.

If there are other reasons for school closures or delays (such as temperature) the Senior Activity Centers will determine whether they will be closed on a case-by-case basis and may NOT follow the school closures.

Building Closures and Meal Adjustments

  1. Once per month, lunch will not be served; staff will be training and the kitchens can be deep cleaned.

  2. The Centers are CLOSED for ALL Federal Holidays, including:

    • Martin Luther King Day

    • President’s Day

    • Memorial Day

    • Juneteenth

    • July 4th

    • Labor Day

    • Indigenous People’s Day

    • Veteran’s Day

    • Thanksgiving & the Friday after

    • Christmas

    • New Years

    • The Centers are typically closed the week from Christmas to New Year.
