Senior Day 2025

LARSO Members Richard Shaner, Katie Fry, Patricia Rathbone, and Coleen Meyer attended Senior Day 2025.

LARSO staff Kiah McConnell and Jacci Gruninger also attended.

On Monday, January 27 LARSO members attended Senior Day 2025 at the New Mexico State Legislature. We spoke with representatives, toured the Roundhouse, heard about key issues from New Mexico Aging & Long-Term Services (ALTSD), and attended the Resource Fair. Click here to see what Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham had to share with seniors across the state.

The New Mexico Aging & Long-Term Services Department provides accessible integrated services to older adults, adults with disabilities, and caregivers, to assist in maintaining their independence, dignity, health, safety, and economic well-being, thereby empowering them to live independently in their own communities as productively as possible.

ALTSD is requesting a budget of $74.3 million for Fiscal Year 2025-2026. ALTSD seeks to maintain the necessary services they provide to older adults, as well as invest in expanding senior services, reactivate the Long-Term Care Division, and modernize the Department to serve the needs of seniors today and in the future.

If you would like to express support for ALTSD’s FY 2025-2026 Budget Request, please write to or call your legislator.
