Thank You Don Cobb! Welcome Donna Haynes!
We’d like to take a moment to thank Don Cobb for joining the LARSO Board of Directors last year and for all the support he provided througout the year. Don brought years of board experience with him and shared that experience with all of us. He was instrumental in helping to set our Strategic Goals for the next three years (more on our goals next month). Don is leaving Los Alamos for Santa Fe. He will be missed greatly on our Board but also in the Los Alamos community. Thank you Don, we wish you all the best.
Donna Haynes was recently appointed to the Board of Directors. After retiring, Donna Haynes relocated to White Rock in 2017 to be nearer to her two sons (and future grandkids). She enjoys family gatherings, landscaping, improvement projects, and meeting new people. Donna has previously held leadership positions on non-profit boards in her prior hometown. With a multi-faceted background in facilities engineering, project management, training and development, small-business management, recruiting and organizational management; she utilizes her skills to complete small projects at both Senior Centers.
Her most recent experience, working with the staff and volunteers at Los Alamos Retired and Senior Organization (LARSO), led her to be asked to join the Friends of the Senior Center (FOSC) Board in 2023. When there was a vacancy on the LARSO Board of Directors recently, she expressed interest in filling the position as an additional link between FOSC and LARSO and was appointed.
Going forward, Donna will continue to devote her time and skills to other LARSO special projects, revitalizing the Friends (FOSC) organization, and getting to know members of both Organizations. Please feel free to say hello or ask any questions, when you see her around the Centers!
