Annual Campaign Kick-Off for Los Alamos Retired and Senior Organization

As we step into July, we are excited to announce the kick-off of the Annual Fundraising Campaign for the Los Alamos Retired and Senior Organization (LARSO)! This vital initiative, which runs through October, aims to gather support for essential programs and services that enhance the quality of life for seniors in our community.

July marks the beginning of our campaign, and this month we are specifically focusing on collecting donations for our unrestricted funds. This year, these funds are vital as they will help cover essential expenses, including meals, transportation, outings, and staff salaries. Additionally, they will play a crucial role in supporting necessary upgrades, including technology enhancements, IT support, coffee, program materials, and general operating costs that keep our Senior Activity Centers running smoothly.

We invite you to consider contributing this month. Your generous donations can help us maintain and upgrade our facilities and services, ensuring that our seniors have access to the best resources available. Whether it’s improving technological capabilities or simply providing a comfortable environment with warm coffee and engaging programming, your support will make a significant difference. Every dollar counts.

By contributing to our unrestricted funds, you are directly supporting the vibrant community of seniors who rely on our centers for connection, education, and entertainment. Let’s come together to make a difference and show our support for the seniors in Los Alamos.

Thank you for your continued commitment to our mission. We look forward to your support throughout the campaign and beyond!

Donate via our website at larso.org/donate or bring a check to either of our Centers.  Please be sure to indicate UNRESTRICTED FUNDS in the memo line.

If you're curious about how our funds are allocated, it's important to note that the funding process is pretty complex. Both the State and County have specific guidelines regarding reimbursements for our expenses. Not all program services are reimbursable, not all salaries are covered by both contracts, and even those that are may not be fully covered. Our Business Manager and CFO continually monitor our financial "buckets."
