Director’s Corner - Not Pleasing Everyone

By Jacci Gruninger, Executive Director

Hey everyone,

I want to talk about something that we can all relate to: the idea that it's impossible to please everyone. In our friendly senior activity centers, we all come from different backgrounds, and we have different preferences and perspectives. And that's okay!

I've noticed that sometimes we may feel pressure to make sure everyone is happy and satisfied with the decisions, activities, and events we plan. But the truth is, it's impossible to always please everyone.

As our organization grows we often need to make decisions that will support the Centers both in the short and long term. While we want to create an enjoyable and fulfilling experience for everyone, we also need to make decisions that will benefit the center as a whole.

It's important to focus on creating a positive, inclusive, and equitable environment for all of us. As well as one that moves us into the future and creates sustainability.

Let's prioritize creating a welcoming and supportive atmosphere, embracing change, and making decisions that benefit the organization for years to come.
